Shanghai mulls launching emerging industry board, paper says

The Shanghai Stock Exchange said it is studying plans to set up an emerging industry board to cater to the needs of fast-growing new industries such as mobile-internet service companies, the Shanghai Securities News reported Monday, citing exchange general manager Huang Hongyuan. Huang said many internet, new-energy and pharmaceutical companies have opted to list overseas in the last decade because of the lack of access to the capital market in China. Flagship companies from these emerging industries could also become blue-chip firms, Huang said.
