Xi, Park agree to step up free-trade talks, Xinhua says

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye on Sunday agreed for an early achievement of a free-trade agreement between their two countries while strengthening communication and coordination on major regional and international issues,  the official Xinhua News Agency reported Monday. The two leaders, who met in The Hague, the Netherlands, to attend the biennial Nuclear Security Summit, also reiterated their commitment to peaceful dialogue to resolve issues and achieve denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, the report said. Park was also set to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Barack Obama in The Hague on Monday, Kyodo News agency reported.
