Beijing guides investors towards Britain, FT says

China’s state planning agency has issued a one-of-a-kind guide for Chinese investors interested in Britain, the Financial Times reported Tuesday. It is the first time the National Development and Reform Commission has issued a country-specific guide for Chinese investors and comes as Britain aims to draw £50 billion (US$82.54 billion) of foreign capital to finance infrastructure projects, the report said. The report highlights 18 Chinese firms that have already ventured into Britain, although it glosses over the difficulties encountered in deals such as SAIC’s fraught £1bn run at MG Rover, it said.
