China to lag far behind US in 2014 petroleum output, report says

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report Tuesday that it expects the nation’s production of petroleum and other oil products this year to be 13.3 million barrels a day, while China’s output is estimated at about one-third of the US production, China Daily reported. On the demand side, the EIA forecast that China’s liquid fuels use will reach more than 11 million barrels a day in 2014, while US demand will be close to 18.9 million barrels a day, the report said.
