Australia PM eyes progress on China trade deal, report says

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said he hopes to outline the progress on free trade agreement talks during a visit to Beijing next month, news website caixin.com reported Friday. Abbott, who will be visiting China in early April as part of a three-nation Asian tour, made the comments in a press release ahead of the visit. A key activity next month will be the inaugural Australia Week in China between April 8 and 11. Last year, Australia’s exports to China exceeded A$2 billion (US$1.86 billion), making China the nation’s biggest trade partner, Abbott said.
