Baidu wins censorship lawsuit in US, website reports

Chinese internet search giant Baidu Inc. has won the dismissal of a lawsuit in the US over alleged censorship of articles, Tencent’s qq.com reported Friday. The lawsuit was filed by eight US content producers who claimed the Baidu search engine has screened search results and blocked users from reading politically sensitive information. The group, which had sought damages of US$16 million, said it will appeal the ruling, the report said.
