Most China student returnees hold Master’s degrees, paper says

A new report on Chinese overseas returnees in 2013 showed that graduates with a master’s degree represent the largest group among those who returned to China from overseas study, while those with a doctoral degree comprise the smallest, China Daily reported Sunday. A study by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, under China’s Ministry of Education, showed that people with master’s degree made up 63 percent of the total returnees last year, while those with a doctoral degree and above represent only 6 percent, it said. More than 91 percent of the returnees were between 23 and 30 years old.
