New guidelines on capital markets out soon, paper says

The State Council is set to unveil a nine-point policy package on developing the country’s capital markets, including revamping the registration system, developing the private equity market, regulating the refinancing business, as well as encouraging acquisitions and corporate restructuring, China Business News reported Monday, citing persons with knowledge of the matter. The new measures will be an expansion of the six-point policy package proposed at the State Council’s regular meeting on March 25, one of the sources said. The impact of the new guidelines on the stock market will depend on whether they will focus on supervision or encouraging innovation, the report said.
