North and South Korea trade fire across sea border, Yonhap says

North Korea has started a live-fire drill near its disputed maritime border with South Korea on Monday, Yonhap news agency reported, citing an unnamed government official. Artillery shells landed in waters north of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the Yellow Sea, prompting South Korea’s military to return fire. Residents on a frontline island of the South said they were evacuated to shelters during the exchange, the report said.
