Base wage rises in 7 provinces and cities, CNS says

Seven administrative regions have raised their minimum wage this year, with Shanghai leading the pack with a 200 yuan increase to 1,820 yuan (US$234.62) per month, or 17 yuan per hour, China News Service reported Tuesday. The minimum wage has also increased in Chongqing, Shaanxi, Shenzhen, Shandong, Beijing and Tianjin. The monthly benchmark is up 160 yuan to 1,560 yuan in Beijing, and 180 yuan to 1,680 yuan in Tianjin, the report said.
