Central Huijin A-share spree hits 688 mln, paper says

Central Huijin Investment Ltd. bought 688 million shares of five major listed banks and an insurance company in 2013, helping bolster the A-share market, 21st Century Business Herald reported Tuesday. Huijin snapped up shares in Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (01398.HK, 601398.CN), Bank of China Ltd. (03988.HK, 601988.CN), China Construction Bank (00939.HK, 601939.CN), Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK, 601288.CN), China Everbright Bank Co. Ltd. (601818.CN) and New China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (01336.HK, 601336.CN) in the six months to December last year in a fifth round of A-share purchases, the report said. Also, the state-owned investment company diversified into other securities such as exchange traded funds.
