China March manufacturing PMI climbs to 50.3, NBS says

China’s official purchasing managers’ index for manufacturing edged up to 50.3 in March from 50.2 the previous month, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday. A reading above 50 suggests expansion in factory activity. The new orders index climbed to 50.6 last month from 50.5 in February, while the index for new export orders grew 1.9 points to 50.1. The production index was 0.1 of a point higher at 52.7 while that for raw materials inventory climbed 0.4 point to 47.8, the data showed.
