Policies seen soon to support small cultural firms, paper says

China may soon unveil some policies aimed at supporting the development of small and micro cultural enterprises, Shanghai Securities News reported Tuesday, citing an authoritative source. The policies, which are being prepared jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and other agencies, will deal with issues such as market access, reducing the tax burden and providing loan support for the firms, the report said. Utilities charges for such firms will be set at industrial rates rather than the current practice of commercial rates, the report said, adding that the move could help the firms cut their expenses by about 30 percent.
