Beijing will continue to set home purchase limits this year, 21st Century Business Herald reported Thursday, citing municipal housing officials. Representatives from the Beijing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission met with 50 property developers to discuss the policy after reports several key cities were preparing to lift the restrictions. More than 8,900 second-hand homes changed hands in Beijing during March, up 64.4 percent from the previous month, but down 79.6 percent from a year earlier. The March transaction volume was the lowest since 2009. Second-hand home transactions are a proxy for the overall property market in Beijing, the report said, quoting Centaline Beijing’s market research director Zhang Dawei.
