China’s official purchasing managers index for the non-manufacturing sector weakened to 54.5 in March, 0.5 point lower than in the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics said on its website on Thursday. A reading above 50 indicates expansion. The new orders index fell to 50.8 from 51.4, while the business expectations index rose 1.6 points to 61.5, the bureau said. The non-manufacturing PMI covers real estate, wholesale, water transport, internet and software, telecommunications and broadcast, aviation and construction, among other sectors.
