Egg substitute producer eyes HK listing, paper says

San Francisco-based technology startup Hampton Creek said it aims to list in Hong Kong in four years’ time after receiving financial backing from billionaire Li Ka-shing for its egg substitute products, the Apple Daily reported Monday, citing chief executive Josh Tetrick. Hampton Creek is keen to enter the East Asian market, especially China, where 38 percent of the world’s egg-related products are manufactured, the report said. The introduction of egg substitute products will help lower the risks of avian flu, Tetrick said.
