Internet users are being encouraged to expose corrupt officials in a stepped-up campaign against graft, news website china.com reported Monday. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection wants China’s legions of netizens to report bribery, illegal travel and lavish banquets using public money. They are being asked to watch out for practices that circumvent restrictions on illegal use of government funds, the report said. Such practices are getting increasingly difficult to eradicate, the report said. Public supervision is an effective way to curb it by publicizing offenders, the commission was quoted as saying.
