Tragedy turned into a comedy of errors in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, Monday when uniformed city management officers gave chase to a man they mistook for a vagrant pasting notices for a missing person on pillars at the city’s bus station, sohu.com reported Wednesday.
It was some time before the officers realized that the rather modestly attired man was movie star Andy Lau, better known as one of the best-dressed men in show business.
Lau was in the midst of shooting a scene for his new film, Lost and Lonely, which chronicles a farmer’s continued desperate effort to track down his son 15 years after the child disappeared.
The film is a Huayi Brothers Co. Ltd (300027.CN) production and examines the abduction of women and children in China.
Some media reports said Lau’s outfit looked a lot like the clothes worn by Cheng Guorong, a beggar nickednamed “Brother Sharp” for his fashionable dishabille style. Cheng shot to national fame in 2010 after photographers snapped photos of him on the street in Zhejiang province.
