Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin was seen in Shanghai Tuesday afternoon as he paid a visit to his cousin, Hong Kong broadcaster Asia Television reported Wednesday.
Jiang, 88, stayed at the cousin’s home in Jingan district for about 20 minutes, the report said, adding that he appeared to be in good health. The former leader was accompanied by several bodyguards, but no officials from Shanghai’s current leadership were with him. Jiang was seen waving to the public who surrounded him.
Meanwhile, a report said Jiang had visited the Shouxi Lake, a famous scenic spot at his hometown Yangzhou in Jiangsu province, earlier with his wife.
