‘Milkshake murderer’ Kissel loses final bid to appeal

Nancy Kissel, the American housewife serving a life sentence in Hong Kong for the murder of her banker husband 11 years ago, has lost her final bid to appeal against her conviction, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday, citing Agence-France Presse.

Kissel was convicted of murder twice — first in 2005 and at a retrial in 2011. She drugged her husband with a sedative-laced strawberry drink before clubbing him to death with a lead ornament in their luxury Tai Tam home.

Presiding Judge Robert Ribeiro said at the Court of Final Appeal that the application had been dismissed, the report said.

Kissel was then taken out of the court room on a stretcher, it said.
