Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. said sales from its carrier business could top US$40 billion in 2018, up 51 percent from 2013, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported Monday.
Revenue from the segment rose 4 percent to HK$206.4 billion (US$26.62 billion) in 2013 from a year earlier, the report said, citing Wang Shengqing, global president for marketing.
Huawei leads the world in 4G LTE orders, with 280 network contracts signed during the year, of which 110 are in operation, Wang was quoted as saying.
The company will focus on its 4G, business-to-business and business-to-customer strategy this year and offer a wider range of solutions for resolving issues between operators and customers.
Huawei expects network construction and fixed investment in the telecom sector to receive a boost from a plan by China Mobile Ltd. (00941.HK) to build 600,000 base stations nationwide and by growing 4G use.
The company has been making billions of US dollars from China’s TD-LTE 4G network equipment market, the report said.
