LinkedIn Corp., a social network for professionals, has doubled its user numbers in Hong Kong to 900,000 in the past two years Asia-Pacific managing director Hari Krishnan said Wednesday.
Most of its Hong Kong users are from the financial, information technology services, higher education and telecom sectors.
LinkedIn started operations from an expanded office in Hong Kong Wednesday, providing marketing solutions and other services in the North Asia region with a staff of 50.
Nellie Chan, director of marketing solutions for Southeast Asia and North Asia, said the company is hiring in Hong Kong.
“After we launched the Chinese version of our website in the mainland in February, we have seen a notable increase in registered users from the mainland,” Chan said. “But it’s too early to disclose the exact numbers.”
