Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying has reappointed Jack So Chak-kwong as chairman of the city’s Trade Development Council for another eight months, extending his tenure from October 1, 2014 until May 31, 2015.
Leung said Vincent Lo Hong-sui, chairman of the Shui On Group, will succeed So from June 1, 2015 for two years.
“Lo also has wide global connections and is highly regarded as a top entrepreneur in the region. He has been Hong Kong’s representative to the APEC Business Advisory Council since 2010,” Leung said.
“With Lo’s vast experience and his strong ties with the local, mainland and international business communities, he will lead the TDC ably in the global promotion of trade.”
So will, in turn, succeed Marvin Cheung Kin-tung as chairman of the Airport Authority (AA) for three years from June 1, 2015. Cheung’s appointment was extended for one year from June 1, 2014 but Cheung has decided to retire for personal reasons when his current term ends Saturday.
In the interim, AA board member Vincent Lo will serve as chairman for one year from June 1, 2014.
Fanny Law has also been appointed as chairwoman of the board of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp. for two years from July 1, 2014.
