There were few signs of what might be in the Apple Inc pipeline but the tech company did offer a look at mobile apps that crunch health data at the start of an annual developers’ conference in San Francisco, Reuters reported Monday.
Apple executives unveiled “Healthkit”, which will pool health information such as blood pressure and weight gathered by various iPhone and iPad apps. Another app, dubbed “Health” will be part of iOS 8, the report said.
But investors had been keen to see some of the promised new product categories, especially afterinternet services chief Eddy Cue said last week that the pipeline was the best he had seen in more than two decades.
Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. has also announced its own mobile health-data product.
