HK man hides corpses of mistress, son in flat for 14 years

A 53-year-old Hong Kong man has admitted killing his mistress and their two-year old son and hiding their bodies in a flat for 14 years, Apple Daily reported Wednesday, citing Shenzhen police.

A helper sent to clean his rented flat in Shenzhen’s Buji subdistrict found the remains of the mother and son wrapped in a bag. The helper notified the police and the man was arrested returning to the mainland.

The suspect said he killed the mistress and son in 2000 in one of two adjacent flats he rented, hiding the bodies in one and living in the other.

The man met the woman in 1998 after he left his wife and fled to Shenzhen to escape creditors for hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong dollars in gambling debts. He and the mistress had a son that year but he killed them both in 2000 because he did not have the money to support them, the report said.
