Chinese regulators are expected to soon give the go-ahead to the planned giant P3 shipping alliance between the world’s three biggest container operators this month, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.
The Chinese authorities are the last regulators to green light a tie-up proposed by Denmark’s A.P. Moeller Maersk’s Maersk Line, France’s CMA CGM and Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping Co., the report said.
The alliance could be operating by autumn, with the three companies sharing ships, routes and logistics, it said.
