Film and television production companies are the rising stars of China’s initial public offering (IPO) market.
They’re also shining the spotlight on enterprising celebrities.
Zhou Wei and Fan Bingbing, two of the mainland’s hottest stars, are stakeholders of Zhejiang Talent Film & TV Co. Ltd. which is seeking 809 million yuan (US$129.81 million) in a public listing, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported Wednesday.
Zhou and Fan hold 1.95 percent and 2.15 percent stakes, respectively, worth 47.39 million yuan and 52.25 million yuan.
The company has produced a number of blockbuster films and TV programs including After The Naked Wedding and Home.
Zhou’s brother Zhou Jian, the second biggest shareholder, controls 10.67 percent of the company, the report said.
