It has been a personal matter since day one. We know what Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying’s second daughter said on her Facebook page two weeks ago, and what his wife Regina said on Friday when she refused a call from him (CE’s office confirmed it was CY Leung calling) then lashed at academic Ivan Choy.
So what did Leung want to say?
We picked up a piece of paper and put together a script of what might have been said if the call had gone on at length. We chose not to bother the Chief Executive Office for an official transcript, so here’s how we think the conversation might have transpired:
Hi, Lo Por (wife) Regina.
I know you are upset. I am, too, but let’s act like the first family of Hong Kong. I don’t want to look bad in front of the Liaison Office. So, please stop talking to the camera.
It has been a bad week for us all. Even Tung Chee-hwa called and offered his words of comfort and said I was worse off than he was in his worst situation.
My third year began with a V-shaped rebound. But I am having a smoother time in Legco because all the democrats are gone.
Mad dog tried to throw a glass cup at me. I ordered his arrest but I actually wanted to say thank you to him. Now the sympathy is on me as people are worried that I may cut my wrist with the broken glass.
Don’t worry about vicious tiger. You know I am a fox not a tiger.
And no one likes the fat professor. He doesn’t even have a girlfriend. I have made some arrangements to get him promoted to Tsinghua.
We can’t blame our daughter. Blame Facebook. Let’s switch to WeChat.
Let’s plan a trip to London again. I want to speak to Fat Pang to see if he’d agree to shut up.
