Las Vegas Sands, Adelson face US$5 bln Macau casino suit

A former Macau business associate is suing Las Vegas Sands Corp. and chairman Sheldon Adelson in the United States for US$5 billion over claims of trade-secret theft, Bloomberg reported Monday.

Asian American Entertainment Corp., headed by Shi-Sheng “Marshall” Hao, has filed a complaint over money that it says it’s owed for work that helped Sands secure a contract to develop its Macau casinos, the report said.

Reuters reported that the complaint was filed in the US District Court in Nevada Wednesday and is in addition to two separate, ongoing legal actions in Macau over an alleged breach of contract.

A Sands spokesman accused AAEC of “repeatedly filed lawsuits trying to take credit for that which they didn’t do”, Bloomberg reported.
