Pro-Beijing newspaper Wen Wei Po said Thursday that it will launch a free newspaper on Friday.
The new publication will leverage the newspaper’s strengths and social influence, it said.
It will be published from Monday to Friday, in general and school editions, and will feature local news, community news and commentary.
The newspaper will be distributed in schools, shopping malls, public housing estates, coffee shops, buses, hotels, community centers, government agencies, hospitals, China Travel Service offices and in Hong Kong-based mainland organizations.
Established in 1938 in Shanghai, Wen Wei Po is one of the most influential daily newspapers in Hong Kong targeting intellectuals, according to its website.
