Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. (00027.HK) said that senior managers and all staff below this rank will receive share allotments equivalent to three times their salary in August to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The share price will be set according to its price on the placement day, Radio Macau reported Monday.
The announcement comes as a labor group plans to stage a protest against the gaming corporate on Tuesday in a demand for higher salaries and a fairer promotion mechanism.
The casino operator also said it will distribute a special bonus to staff in July 2015 and July 2016. The special bonus will be equal to one month of their salary at that time.
Galaxy said it is working on a seniority and experience-based pay rise mechanism, and there will be many promotion opportunities when the second phase of Galaxy Macau in the Cotai strip opens next year.
But labor group Forefront of the Macao Gaming said it will rally about 2,000 casino workers to press ahead with the protest.
Galaxy Entertainment’s stock was trading at HK$64.60 (US$8.33). The gaming firm’s portfolio in Macau includes casino resorts Galaxy Macau, StarWorld Macau and the Grand Waldo.
