A meeting of senior cadres will be held soon in Hebei province to discuss priorities and set the tone for a party plenum in October, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported Thursday.
The informal conference will be attended by Premier Li Keqiang and politburo standing committee member Liu Yunshan, as well as retired and sitting senior officials.
Liu Yunshan has arrived in Qinhuangdao, a major port city in Hebei province, while Li Keqiang has returned to Beijing from a visit to Yunnan in preparation for the meeting, the report said.
The leaders are expected to discuss the economy and a widening party crackdown on corruption, the report said, citing some political observers.
