Nepalese man sought in gruesome killing

Police are looking for a 21-year-old Nepalese man suspected of killing his stepmother in Hong Kong’s Yuen Long district Monday morning.

The woman, 42, was found in the kitchen of her home with multiple wounds to the body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another woman sustained wounds to the head and was taken to Yan Chai Hospital and later moved to Prince Margaret Hospital for further treatment.

Investigators said the suspect fled after attacking the women with knives and choppers. Police recovered a fruit knife and two choppers from the scene.

The man was wearing red and black checked shirt and black trousers. He has short black hair, stands 1.85 meters and is heavily built, police said.

He is believed to be suffering from mental illness, government broadcaster RTHK reported, citing Superintendent Eric Ho Chun-chung, Tsuen Wan assistant district commander.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident can contact the police on 3661 2402 or 3661 2403.
