High-flyers, get this: you are what you fly.
Passengers on first or business class, apparently are not born equal, but you won’t know this until you look at the vanity bags they get from the airlines.
The ultimate is a six-star kit from Emirates, Qatar Airways or Etihad. If you fly Air Canada, Condor and Iberia, you get lowly three-star tote bags, according to Mail Online.
Forty-eight vanity bags from economy, business and first class were rated by a British travel company and given the appropriate tags — from “taxiing” for those that are more down to earth to “fly me to the moon” for those that scream sky is the limit.
Middle Eastern and Far Eastern airlines dominated the top 10. None of the best amenity kits came from European airlines and only one US airline earned six stars.
Telling. But wait till you see what’s in the bag.
Some of the upper-class kits are given in totes designed by luxury brands such as Bally and Bulgari and come stuffed with designer cosmetics from the likes of Clarins, Dermologica and Dior.
Inside are everything from ear plugs and emery boards to pulse point oil and pillow mist for a good night’s sleep.
The 10 most popular items in the kits are brushes and combs, followed by eye masks, toothbrushes then socks and earplugs.
A spokesman for the rankings couldn’t contain himself with a bevy of superlatives in describing the cream of the crop — high life, bling-tastic, sumptuous, upper-crust.
Incidentally, his company is called Cheapflights.co.uk.
