Chan King-cheung, deputy publisher and executive director of Hong Kong Economic Journal, the parent of ejinsight.com, on Friday led a dozen colleagues to take the ice bucket challenge.
A donation was made to the ALS Association, a non-profit charity for people suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Colleagues from the Chinese newspaper’s units including hkej.com, ejinsight.com, startupbeat.com and ejfq.com joined the event on the roof of their office building in Ngau Tau Kok in east Kowloon.
“Today we accepted the ice bucket challenge from Wang Chih-jen, founder of Business Next Publishing Corp., and Ping Wong, secretary-general of Internet Society Hong Kong,” Chan said. “We want to call out Shen Hao, CEO of 21st Century Media, Robert Chan, chairman of HKEJ, and Lewis Chong, head of the HKEJ research department.”
Chong accepted the challenge and then called out all the other board members of the newspaper.
