This is one modern fairytale that is inspiring awe — and some envy– among young mums in Britain.
A 28-year-old woman who led a pretty drab life working as a social worker at a city council in Hull has found a spectacular new career dressing up as Princess Elsa, the popular character from Disney’s hit animation movie Frozen.
Giving up her previous job, Terri Cheesebrough now makes a living acting and singing at children’s parties and events, winning a lot of fame and admiration.
It all began when Terri’s five-year-old daughter Phoebe begged her mom to dress up as Princess Elsa for a summer school event, insisting that they looked alike.
After being stared at in awe by Phoebe’s classmates, Terri was soon beseeched with requests from parents for appearances at various children’s events, according to the Mirror.
Finding the work rewarding as well as stress-free, Terri took it up as full-time vocation and found her life getting transformed.
The new job is also said to have helped her overcome depression and anxiety, which she used to often suffer in the past.
“I am extremely camera-shy and I have never been confident having my picture taken but I’ve overcome that so do this job, and it’s so worth it to see the look on the children’s faces,” she told the Mirror.
Despite the huge demand, Terri is said to charge only 25 pounds (about US$42) per appearance at events, which involve singing, bringing presents and having photographs taken.
“As a mum it is important to keep the price affordable- I’m not making much profit, but it’s a great job for fitting in around my children,” she said.
Although constantly essaying the role of a fictional Princess, Terri certainly seems to have her feet planted firmly on the ground.
