Jimmy Lai’s apartment searched by ICAC: report

Officials from Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) conducted a search at the apartment of Next Media Group chairman Jimmy Lai Chee-ying Thursday morning, according to an RTHK report.

The anti-graft officials searched Lai’s apartment at Kadoorie Avenue in Ho Man Tin in Kowloon, the report said. Lai’s legal representatives were said to have arrived at the apartment afterward.

Media reports had said earlier that Lai was involved in political donations. Some people are said to have urged the ICAC to investigate the matter.

An ICAC spokesperson declined to comment on the case.
