Samsung Electronics unveiled on Wednesday a new smartphone, Galaxy Note Edge, which bears a unique curved display, in a move aimed at fending off competitors such as Apple Inc.
The South Korean firm also showed off a virtual reality (VR) headset and the latest version of its popular smartphone-tablet hybrid, the Galaxy Note 4, at the IFA trade show in Berlin, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The headset, called the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition, allows users to mount the new Galaxy Note in front of their eyes, allowing consumers to use the device for gaming and watching movies.
The new products will go on sale through major US carriers this fall.
Last week, the Korean tech giant said it will begin selling a stand-alone wristwatch, the Samsung Gear S, that will be able to make and receive calls without having to be tethered to a smartphone.
