After washing machine caper, ‘dog killer’ serves up new game

The “washing machine dog killer” saga in Hong Kong has taken another bizarre twist, with a person posting a fresh message on Facebook and threatening to kill more animals unless netizens answer some questions correctly.

In a posting on the social networking site, the man — who identified himself as Jacky Lo — addressed users of Hong Kong’s popular online Golden Forum, saying: “Let me play a game with you”.

“I have six stray dogs in my hand,” he said. “I will ask you a question everyday. I will kill a dog if your answer is wrong, and release one if you answer correctly. The lives of the dogs are in your hands.”

He posted the message along with an emoticon that meant “Feeling great!”.

His provocation came after angry netizens on Golden Forum dug out and exposed his personal information, including his real name, car plate number and occupation, on online platforms following a suspected dog killing incident.

Although the man, identified as Jacky Lo on Facebook as well as Weibo, claimed his Facebook account was hacked and that the purported personal information on him was false, he mocked the Golden Forum users for being naive, ridiculous and mentally retarded.

Animal lovers were outraged last week after “Jacky Lo” posted pictures online that suggested that he killed a puppy by throwing it into a churning washing machine.

Using his Sina weibo account, the man later claimed that the pictures of the puppy posted on Facebook were fake, and threatened to sue media outlets that reported he had killed the dog.

He also said that he was going to the mainland due to the bad situation in Hong Kong following the controversy.

But now, we have this fresh message apparently from the same user, threatening to kill more dogs unless he receives correct answers to the questions that he will pose online every day.

The police have started investigating the case but have made no arrest so far. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) said it will continue following up the case.

The original post showing the puppy in a running washing machine is yet to be deleted from the online platform.
