This is art imitating life, comic book-style.
The star is a heroine trying to make it in a man’s world — not just make it but succeed in a big way — and empower all women.
Lean In is an illustrated biography based on the eponymous best-seller by Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, who is outranked only by Mark Zuckerberg.
The 32-page comic book is being published by Blue Water Productions which has been churning out illustrated material on women power, according to CNN Money.
The new book, which stars Sandberg herself, is spiced up with illustrated quotes from her best-seller:
“Men still run the world. As a business major, I recognized that, understood it sharply. If you ask men why they did a good job, they will say something like, ‘I’m awesome, obviously’.”
“There’s no such thing as work-life balance. There’s work, and there’s life, and there’s no balance.”
“Anything worth doing takes work. I want to tell any young girl out there who thinks she’s a geek that it works out. Just study harder.”
And many more.
Sandberg worked with Google guys Larry Page and Sergey Brin before she was hired away by Zuckerberg to be the chief operating officer of Facebook.
She became a billionaire after the world’s biggest social network went public in May 2012.
In her book, Sandberg describes what it’s like to compete in a male-dominated world.
At Facebook, for instance, seven in 10 employees are men and mostly white.
But as a comic character, Sandberg is in illustrious company. Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Mother Theresa, Melinda Gates and Tina Fey have been featured in Bluewater’s Female Force series.
Why not, if Zuckerberg had his own movie?
