Labor camp in Shandong: It’s not what you think!

Although men can’t give birth to babies, they can still have a chance to experience the labor pains.

Last year, two Dutch television show hosts created a sensation by opting to experience simulated labor contractions to determine for themselves the awful pain that women go through during child birth.

Strapping on electrodes to their abdomens, the men put up with two hours of contractions in an ordeal which they later described as torture and wondered if they want their women to go through the same pain.

Now, two men in Jinan, the capital of China’s Shandong province, have done a similar thing, according to Xinhua news agency.

The men, both of whom are preparing for fatherhood, on Sunday used electro-stimulations to get contractions in order to experience the distress their wives will go through in the coming months, the report said.

Propped on bed with electrodes attached to their abdomens, the two men screamed and cried as they underwent the simulated contractions.

The event organizer arranged a similar labor pain experience camp for men in Nanchang, in Jiangxi province, earlier in April, according to previous reports.

The men who went through such labor pain simulation have, without exception, professed new admiration for their wives and are now more sympathetic toward womenfolk in general.

Now, does it come as any surprise?
