Shredded pork left on road as truck carrying 20 pigs crashes

Bits of pork were strewn across a road after a truck carrying more than 20 dead pigs hit a curb and burst open.

The truck, which was taking the pigs from Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse to Shatin along Tai Po Road at around 5:50 a.m. Thursday, bumped into the cement curb on its right, Apple Daily reported Friday.

The logistics company sent another truck to take away the meat.

The driver, who received minor injuries, told police the truck crashed as he was evading a vehicle that cut into his lane.

However, a video clip uploaded on Facebook by Newman Lau, who attributed it to Chong Kee Seafood, showed no vehicle near the pork truck before the accident.

The clip was taken by the onboard camera of a vehicle some distance behind the truck. It has been shared more than 2,000 times.
