Munich Airport topped a global ranking in flight punctuality last year, with the German hub scoring a 89 percent rating, according a report from aviation intelligence provider OAG.
Tokyo’s Haneda Airport was ranked No. 2 with a punctuality rating of 87.9 percent and topping the league in Asia, the report showed.
Singapore’s Changi Airport ranked second in Asia with a 85.3 percent punctuality rate, Am730 noted.
Mainland China and Hong Kong airports failed to find a place in the top 20 which had an average punctuality rate of 82.9 percent.
Beijing International Airport was placed in the 28th position in flight punctuality in the world, even as it is expected to become the world’s business airport, replacing Atlanta, in the future.
The OAG report, which covers 4,000 airports and 900 airlines in the world, factored in 43.5 million flight records.
AirBaltic was the most punctual airline company in the world last year, with a punctuality rate of 94.9 percent, while Japan Airlines toped the ranking in Asia with an 88.8 percent punctuality rate.
