Injured white dolphin improving

A white dolphin taken to Ocean Park after being severely injured in a propeller accident has regained his appetite.

In a video posted by the theme park, the animal, named Hope, is shown eating fish with the help of a caretaker.

Hope was hit by a propeller off southeast Lantau Island on Friday.

He sustained injuries that severely affected his movements including his ability to eat.

Hope was brought to Ocean Park where veterinarians have been nursing him back to health.

By 6 p.m. on Sunday, Hope had consumed 5.5 kilos of fresh fish, more than double the intake on Saturday, according to Ming Pao Daily.

Veterinarians have begun the slow process of healing his wounds, letting healthy tissue beneath them speed up his rehabilitation, the report said.
