Pair in sports car arrested after robbery in Tin Shui Wai

Two young men suspected of robbing a convenience store in Tin Shui Wai were arrested after a five-kilometer car chase, Ming Pao Daily reported Wednesday.

The pair, surnamed Ng, 22, and Tse, 23, pulled up in a Nissan Skyline to a convenience store on Hung Tai Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

Brandishing a knife, they robbed the store of HK$2,800 in cash, then hopped into the yellow sports car.

The storekeeper sounded the alarm, and the car was soon identified by a team of police officers who were carrying out an anti-robbery operation nearby.

The car was eventually stopped near Tin Wah Road.

A cutter, a knife and a stun gun were found.

The case is being investigated by the Yuen Long regional crime unit.

A series of convenience store robberies have taken place recently.

Two masked men robbed a convenience store inside a gas station on Castle Peak Road of HK$2,200 Monday, and another convenience store in Yuen Long was robbed of HK$3,000 on Thursday last week.
