Wild boars trigger freak motor accidents

You might want to look around just in case there’s a wild boar nearby.

It was too late though for a motorcylist and his girlfriend. He had come too close to the animal when he swerved to avoid it.

They were thrown off the bike, Apple Daily reported Thursday.

The 25-year-old man, surnamed Woo, escaped with a few scratches but his 22-year-old girlfriend suffered serious injuries.

The accident happened in Clearwater Bay in Hong Kong’s Sai Kung district on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, a Honda Jazz car smashed into six vehicles at an outdoor car park in Stanley after the driver tried to avoid a wild boar.

The impact sent the mini car careening across the road where it crashed into a lamp post.

The 22-year-old driver, surnamed Chan, suffered injuries to the mouth, head and hands while his 28-year-old passenger sustained a broken shoulder.

Police said Chan had been drinking but his blood alcohol reading was within the legal limit.
