Wife says Hugh Jackman can work with anyone except …

If you’re the wife of X-Men and Les Miserables star Hugh Jackman, how do you handle all the young and eager ladies hovering around your famous husband?

There’s nothing to it, according to 59-year-old Australian actress and producer Deborra-Lee Furness, who has been married to the Hollywood actor for nearly 20 years.

She’s gotten used to seeing her husband opposite gorgeous actresses, and knows there’s nothing to be jealous about.

But there’s one actress he’s not allowed to work with, Furness says.

“I’ve told his agent he’s not allowed to work with Angelina [Jolie],” ABC News quoted her as saying at Australia’s Today Show.

“I’m sure she’s very nice and I love what she’s doing — shining a light on awareness for adoption…”

Furness then breaks into laughter, and says: “I’m just kidding.”

Of course, she’s just kidding, but why, of all the stars in the entertainment galaxy, did she pick Jolie?

Furness, who met Jackman on the set of Australian TV show Correlli, apparently has no problem with their marriage.

“It just goes to show, if you get it right, if you pick the right partner then you traverse all those travails and challenges,” she says in the Today Show interview.

In the same show, Jackman, who at 46 is more than 12 years younger than his wife, reveals a secret that probably has helped strengthen their marriage.

“Deb had a rule, never apart for more than two weeks,” he says.

“Deb had been on enough sets to see the pitfalls. It was my first job when we met, I didn’t know anything else, but we’ve never been apart for more than two weeks. We’ve managed to keep that.”

Furness agrees: “And we don’t wanna be [apart] — he tells really good jokes and I miss him.”

The couple, who have two adopted kids, are behind the organization Adopt Change, which is working to change laws and attitudes to make adoption easier in Australia.
