A bookstore owner is appealing for the return of a kitten reported stolen last week by a frequent visitor.
Chan Suen, owner of Sam Kee Book Co., said the young feline is blind and highly sensitive to touch and smell, making it unable to adapt to a new environment.
The 30-year-old bookstore in North Point is home to more than 20 cats, according to Ming Pao Daily.
Chan said a man who has been frequenting the bookshop this past month, walked off with the cat on Thursday. She reported the incident to the police which classified it as theft.
The suspect is five feet, four inches tall and was wearing a hat, jacket and sunglasses at the time of the incident, she said.
Police said they are looking for a male between 25 and 35.
Two years ago, a cat was taken from the premises by a woman who thought it was a stray.
She immediately returned it after realizing the mistake, Chan said.
