Foreigner caught red-handed robbing ATM using fake bank cards

Police caught up with a foreigner who took too long to rob an ATM using fake credit cards.

The suspect, identified only as Ubah, tried to withdraw tens of thousands of dollars from an ATM in Yau Ma Tei, according to Headline Daily.

He caught the attention of an ATM client after he was seen shuffling different bank cards and inserting them into the machine.

The client, a 34-year-old surnamed Li, called the police who arrived while the suspect was still not finished with his business.

The officers seized 15 fake bank cards and a receipt showing Ubah had withdrawn HK$32,000 (US$4,128).

About HK$12,000 was recovered from him.

Ubah was charged with theft and possession of false instruments. He is believed to be part of a gang.
