Legislative Council President Jasper Tsang is lashing out at a government official whom he accused of bad-mouthing his brother after his sacking last week from the government.
Tsang did not name the official but it is believed to be Andrew Fung, the information coordinator for the government of Leung Chun-ying.
Stupid people will always do stupid things, Tsang was quoted as saying by Apple Daily.
On Sunday, Tsang took to Facebook with a post titled “To: Teammates like pigs”.
Tsang was reacting to a report in a pro-establishment website that his younger brother, Tsang Tak-sing, underperformed in his work on youth issues.
He was dismissed as Home Affairs minister on Tuesday, along with Civil Service chief Paul Tang in a surprise reshuffle.
“People ask questions. Are these two the worst performers among a dozen secretaries? Why are others who are even worse still in their jobs?” Jasper Tsang told a Sunday talk show.
He repeated his claim that the government’s handling of the incident terrifies people who work for it.
Tsang said his younger brother was pushed and to say he jumped ship is “plain stupid”.
Pro-government website speakout.hk earlier said the changes were “substitutions” and “not people jumping ship” but later removed the article.
Fung was linked to the website last year after he reportedly supplied Leung’s photos.
Also, the website ran exclusive reports on Leung’s visits to local communities.
Fung refused to respond to Tsang’s comments, saying these might not have been directed at him.
He said Tsang might have been referring to the reshuffle as whole.
